Winter season has come unexpectedly again. Children tend to enjoy it more than us, adults, especially if you live in colder areas with lots of snow and winter fun.
I used to think that people who live in countries with warm winter are so lucky and blessed. But now I understand that it’s so much more exciting to wait for the Christmas fairy tale together with kids, enjoy frosty walks outside and just appreciate the snowy beauty of this season.
Today I’ve decided to share some of my top heart healthy winter recipes with you.
Some of them are vegetarian while others include meat, but all of them are suitable for the whole family. Young moms will agree that it’s important to choose easy-to-cook recipes which don’t take much time.
So, here are some healthy winter recipes I’m going to treat my family this cold season.
One Pot Beef Stroganoff
Being a busy mum, I decided that this heart healthy recipe would be perfect for the whole family including kids. This is a one-pot recipe. I’ve made a few small changes from the traditional recipe and the taste became even better and richer. It has only 250 calories per serving, so you won’t gain any unwanted weight.
You will need to spray a big pan with some oil, put 500 g of striped beef rump and cook it for 5 minutes.
Then set the beef aside and put 500 g sliced mushrooms and 1 big diced onion to the pan and stir it for 7-10 minutes.
After that, combine 300 ml of Greek yogurt and 1tsp of lemon juice. Simmer this mixture for a few minutes and season it with pepper and salt.
This is one the best and my favorite healthy winter dinner recipes and it is served with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
Winter Carrot Soup
I also find winter soup recipes healthy and filling.
One day I went to my friend’s wedding and tasted wonderful curried carrot bisque which was served in shot glasses. Its taste was just amazing, so creamy, warmly spiced, and delicate.
So, I decided to recreate that recipe in my own version of winter warm carrot soup which is vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free.

To cook my quick carrot soup, you won’t need to run to the supermarket for extra ingredients. I bet you have everything on hand (so bear in mind this recipe is perfect for last-minute dinner). First, roast a few yellow onions and carrots and make them caramelized.
Then, add a pinch of pepper, salt, and coconut oil. After that, place the mixture in your blender and add a cup of boiling water. Blend it until it becomes smooth like a puree. That’s it! This homemade dish is so easy to make!
Winter Warm Smoothie
Who doesn’t like sitting on a couch in a cozy pajama on a cold winter evening?
Having a winter warmer hot chocolate smoothie is the only thing that’s missing in this perfect and relaxing atmosphere.
So, here is how to make this smoothie. Add 1 tsp of cocoa and 1 tbsp of chocolate smoothie powder to 1 cup of milk. Stir it over low heat for a few minutes until it warms up. Then combine 1 tsp of honey and vanilla and stir it also into the mixture. Pour your hot chocolate winter smoothie into a mug and enjoy the evening.
