This time-tested ritual helps me to pick up the right mood and sets harmony in my soul. Mint tea is a real breakthrough that I discovered in Morocco. Since that time, I’ve tested dozens of mint tea recipes and realized its real use for my health. Do you want to hear it from a real mint tea lover?
Welcome to a tea party then:)
Benefits of Mint Tea
Mint tea is an affordable, tasty, and healthy drink that has plenty of benefits. Let’s consider the most important of them:
- It relieves indigestion, reduces flatulence, bloating and stomach cramps. Mamas, when your child suffers from bloating, mint tea is better than any medicine! Yes, ladies, Grandma was right – natural medicine can also be useful.
- Mint tea is an ideal drink to relieve anxiety, depression or headaches. Its numbing and calming effect in a combination of chamomile has a super power.
- Those, who suffer from type 2 diabetes, should drink a cup of mint tea daily to lower blood sugar.
Still, one of the most popular mint tea benefits is … tadaam! – it helps to lose weight! Skinny Mint Tea – didn’t you hear about it? Teatox is a veeery popular thing for losing weight. Plenty of ads on Instagram made me conduct a research and find out about its extraordinary features. Though its producers “make it up from natural ingredients”, I see no sense in paying money for things you can make yourself. Mint + green tea + ginger + honey – this formula activates processes in your body that help to lose weight. Works better with my plank challenge🙂

Moroccan Mint Tea
The recipe of Moroccan tea consists of several steps. Therefore, if you want to cognize this delicious recipe, you should be patient.
For this recipe, you need:
- 2 1/2 cups boiling water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons green tea (loose Chinese gunpowder, or green tea)
- 6 mint leaves (crushed)
Boil water and add loose tea into a teapot – the teapot that can be used on the stovetop. It should steep for 30 seconds to let the flavor open up. Then pour the essence with concentrated flavor into the teacup.
Boil another teacup with water and swish the boiled water around inside of the teapot in a circular motion. As in step 1, pour the essence in another cup.
It cleans up the tea and removes any bitter flavor.
Now you can create your tea. Add mint, sugar, and maybe other spices (but initially Moroccan tea doesn’t contain any of them). Then add your firstly removed cup and add water.
Now you can put your pot on the stove and bring to a simmer. It must simmer about 5 minutes on the medium heat.
It will caramelize sugar and give a tea the other shade of taste.
Your delicious drink is ready.
